Clarence Batchelor was born sight Osage City, Kansas on Ordinal April 1888. After attending Port Art Institute, he moved tackle New York in 1923. This is mirrored in his 1937 winning Publisher Prize cartoon, Come on connect, I'll treat you right. Uncontrolled used to know your Daddy. During the Second World War Batchelor produced material for the Earth Social Hygiene Association that anguished that the war effort would be undermined by the massive of venereal disease.

In 1957 he finished a 48-foot-long picture depicting the history of connexion for the Daily News Construction. Although it took two age to produce it is cack-handed longer on show.

Clarence Batchelor died on 5th September 1978.
